Family. It’s complicated. It’s love, conflict, responsibility, and memories—some cherished, some painful. This blog is my space to share stories about family struggles, caring for elderly parents, and uncovering pieces of the past through ancestry research.
Some stories will be lighthearted, others heavier. There will be moments of warmth, but also honesty about family tensions—jealousy, distance, and the things left unsaid.
I write in snapshots, keeping posts short—no more than 500 words. Just moments, thoughts, and reflections. Sometimes, I’ll tie a story to a song because music is a big part of how I process life.
And always, there’s Esel—my ever-present toy donkey, my silent confidant, and the namesake of this blog.
If you’ve experienced family struggles, love, loss, or the bittersweet task of caregiving, you might find something familiar here. If not, perhaps you’ll simply enjoy the glimpses into another life.
Either way, welcome.
